Family of murdered Staten Island woman in Turkey concentrates on bringing her body home
The family of the murdered Staten Island woman, who went missing in Turkey two weeks ago, spoke publicly for the first time since she was found, while her husband and brother await in Istanbul to take her body home.
Sarai Sierra, 33, was found dead Saturday from an apparent blow to the head, according to authorities. Her autopsy is now complete, but the results won't be revealed for about three months.
"Even though I wanted to see my daughter alive, at least we have closure. At least they found her," her mother, Betzaida Jimenez, said.
The FBI is still helping with the probe, according to Congressman Michael Grimm's office. Sierra disappeared Jan. 21. Nearly 21 people were detained in relation to her disappearance, but most were released, according to Turkish media reports.
