Battleship gray contrasted with brilliant blue skies as a parade of ships made its way up the Hudson River between New York and New Jersey.

It's part of the 23rd Fleet Week, which started Wednesday.

About 11 military vessels sailed north toward the George Washington Bridge, then U-turned. Spectators lined the shore; some enjoyed the sights from aboard smaller boats.

The events also included a ceremony on the deck of the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum.
