Gebremariam wins men's title at NYC Marathon

In his ING NYC Marathon debut, Ethiopia’s Gebre Gebrmariam stole the show down the stretch, crossing the finish line in 2:08:14.
He’s the fourth male runner to win a marathon in his debut since Rod Dixon in 1983. Gebrmariam also is the first Ethiopian to win the NYC marathon since Tesfaye Jifar in 2001.
Kenyans Emmanuel Mutai and Moses Kigen Kipkosgei rounded out the top 3, finishing in 2:09:18 and 2:10:39, respectively.
