Signs are pointing to Victor Cruz receiving his big contract, after all.

The New York Post reported Tuesday that he and the Giants are close to completing a long-term contract to keep the New Jersey native playing in East Rutherford in 2013 and beyond.

“In a perfect world I want to finish my career here,” Cruz told the Post.

Cruz, 26, entered the offseason as a restricted free agent. The Giants gave him a first-round tender, likely scaring off other teams from making him an offer.

The wide receiver could have signed the one-year, $2.87 million tender and become an unrestricted free agent after the season.

Cruz accrued 168 receptions for 2,628 yards and 19 touchdowns during his first two full seasons with the Giants. He earned his first Pro Bowl selections last season.
