Hank Williams Jr. yanked from ESPN for Obama-Hitler comparison

Apparently ESPN was not ready for an unapologetic outburst about President Barack Obama on Monday from Hank Williams Jr., the voice of their "Monday Night Football" opening.

The sports channel pulled the country crooner’s spot from the opening of Monday night's game between the Buccaneers and the Colts after Williams’s controversial remarks on Fox News on Monday morning.

Known for his “Are you ready for some football” theme song, Williams, a Republican, said on “Fox and Friends” that it was a “political mistake” for House Majority Leader John Boehner to play golf with the president in June.

“Come on, that would be like Hitler playing golf with [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu,” he said on the show.

When the show’s host said he didn’t understand the analogy, Williams said, “I’m glad you don’t brother, because a lot of people do. They’re the enemy. ... Obama! and Biden!”

The network released a statement explaining their decision. “We are extremely disappointed with his comments, and as a result we have decided to pull the open from tonight’s telecast,” the statement read.

Williams has said that he is considering a run for a U.S. Senate seat in Tennessee next year.
