Here are the universities that do the most torrent downloading

NYU has reached the top of yet another national list -- for illegal downloads.

Students at the university came in second in a ranking of U.S. schools with the highest use of BitTorrent - a way to illegally download content -- according to TorrentFreak.com, which tracks news about torrents and copyright law.

Rutgers nabbed the top spot, with the University of Houston, USC and Texas A&M rounding out the top five.

Though BitTorrent isn't used only for illegally downloading content, illegal content is overwhelmingly what students are downloading. At Rutgers, the top five most-downloaded files were: "Fast Five," "Cars 2," "Puss in Boots," the game "The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings" and the album "The Dreamer, The Believer by Common," according to TorrentFreak.

Universities nationwide have actively tried to stunt campus piracy, most notably with 2010 legislation that said universities could lose federal funding if they don't come down hard enough on student file-sharers.

The rankings are based on the number of public torrents tha twere downloaded by IP addresses affiliated with university networks.
