We love “Sex and the City” as much as the next gal, but we do not — repeat: do not — support its movie and prequel-book spin-offs.

Now, HBO has confirmed that it’s shopping around a TV series based on the silly prequel books — “The Carrie Diaries” — which start with Carrie Bradshaw as a senior in high school and continue through her early years in New York.

“Discussions are underway for The Carrie Diaries, Candace Bushnell’s book about Carrie Bradshaw’s high school years, to find a home as a potential television series,” a rep for HBO told Entertainment Weekly.

According to the mag, the series might land on the CW.

No word yet on the casting, or whether “SATC” mainstays Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis, Kim Cattrall and Cynthia Nixon would be prime to make appearances.
