Prosecutors say a man has admitted to sexually abusing a 2-year-old girl in the bathroom of a New York City park.

Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance, Jr. says 32-year-old Jason Carroll pleaded guilty Wednesday to charges of criminal sexual act and possession of a sexual performance by a child.

Prosecutors say Carroll was supposed to be taking care of the young girl when he brought her into a bathroom in Riverside Park in September 2013 and sexually assaulted her. Two witnesses called police and Carroll was arrested at the scene.

Authorities say officers found sexually explicit photos of children on his cell phone when he was arrested.

Vance called Carroll's actions "the worst imaginable crime."

His attorney did not immediately respond to a message seeking comment.
