Bully for her.

Lady Gaga was at the White House Tuesday for a “private meeting with a senior administrative official,” confirmed a White House spokesman.

While there was no official word on the topic of the confab, Lady Gaga (a.k.a. Stefani Germonatta) was widely expected to be discussing bullying prevention, a cause she embraced with special vigor after one of her fans, Jamey Rodemeyer, 14, from Williamsville, N.Y., killed himself Sept. 18. Rodemeyer had made an “It Gets Better” video discussing the name-calling, harassment and ostracism he had endured from schoolmates while praising the message of Lady Gaga and her “Born This Way” song.

The White House has an anti-bullying website (http://www.stopbullying.gov) that acknowledges the high rates of bullying experienced by kids who are LGBT or perceived to be.

The president was not at the White House Tuesday, but in Osawatomie, Kan., delivering a speech calling for an extension of the payroll tax cut.
