Man pushed, hit by train at 18th Street in Chelsea, NYPD says

A 54-year-old man was pushed onto the tracks and hit by a train at the 18th Street station on Seventh Avenue in Chelsea Sunday morning, police said. 

The incident happened around 7:15 a.m., the FDNY said. The man was taken to Bellevue Hospital Center with a laceration to the hand, officials said. He is expected to be OK, cops said. 

The man had been drinking with two other individuals and one pushed him onto the tracks, police said. It appears that the victim knew the other people, they said. 

Police said they are investigating whether the man was pushed intentionally or accidently. There are no arrests at this time.

The MTA said 1, 2 and 3 trains are running with service changes and delays in both directions due to the incident. 

Uptown No. 2 and 3 trains are running express between Chambers Street and 34th Street-Penn Station, the MTA said.
