Morning routine

Morning routine

Josh Kilmer-Purcell and Brent Ridge are the stars of the reality series "The Fabulous Beekman Boys," which airs on Planet Green on Tuesdays at 10 p.m.

When do you get up?
Brent: I get up at 5 a.m.
Josh: I get up at 7 a.m. We have two routines 'cause I'm in the city.

Do you have a morning ritual?
Brent: I have a very regimented calisthenics routine, so I roll out of bed and immediately start doing sit-ups and then do pushups and leg raises.
Josh: Then I wake up and I grab the laptop and I answer every email that's come in over night.

Is your routine different on the weekends when you're together?
Brent: On the weekends when we're together, Josh is very frustrated by the fact that I get up and do the exercises, because it just makes him feel incredibly lazy, laying in bed hearing someone doing pushups and sit-ups on the floor next to him.
Josh: At the foot of the bed.

What's your favorite breakfast?
Josh: Well, I love eating leftovers. I would say, even though it isn't necessarily farm-fresh, I think the true breakfast of champions is cold pizza.
Brent: Mine are eggs that you went out and got yourself.

Where do you go for breakfast when you're in NYC?
Brent: Oh, we love the diner. The diner closest to us is the Ritz diner on the Upper East Side on First Avenue. We love going there.

What do you get?
Josh: I like to stay in my tradition of eating lunch and dinner foods for breakfast, so I'll always get something like Cobb salad or turkey club, or something like that.
Brent: It's awful, sitting across from someone in the morning eating a tuna melt. It's horrible.
