MSG puts six one-of-a-kind portraits of athletes on sale for charity

Giants defensive end Justin Tuck admits he doesn't know a lot about art, but to be immortalized on canvas seems pretty cool even to a two-time Super Bowl Champion.

"It's such a different piece of art and a unique depiction of a football player," Tuck said Tuesday at the Garden of Dreams Foundation's unveiling of six one-of-a-kind portraits. The portraits featuring Tuck, Knicks center Tyson Chandler, Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist, Knicks Hall-of-Famer Walt "Clyde" Frazier, and the cast of HBO's "The Sopranos" are all based off real photographs taken by MSG photographer George Kalinsky mixed with acrylic paint.

The signed portraits are on auction through March 8 with a starting bid of $2,500. Poster-sized signed prints of the portraits are on sale for $200 while unsigned prints can be purchased for $75. Proceeds go to the Garden of Dreams, a nonprofit that helps needy kids. The portraits were originally hanging on the event level of Madison Square Garden. When fans caught a peek at them, they wanted to know how to purchase the portraits.

Each depicted celebrity and athlete was escorted by a child from the program. A young girl named Taylor, who had cancer, who accompanied Tuck, previously received tickets to a Justin Bieber concert from the nonprofit. When asked who her favorite Justin was "Bieber" or "Tuck," she blushed and responded "Tuck! Of course!"
