The feds are doling out another $164.2 million to help area transit agencies pay for superstorm Sandy-related costs.

The MTA is receiving an additional $756,915, bringing the total amount reimbursed to almost $194 million. Some of the funds cover the restoration of A train service to the Rockaways, a disruption affecting 30,000 riders each day.

Work on the rail is scheduled to be completed in June. The funds will also help rebuild the South Ferry/Whitehall station and to pay for other infrastructure repairs. Other beneficiaries of the most recent allocation include New Jersey Transit, PATH, the city of Long Beach, Westchester County and the Milford Transit District.
