New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said Monday that he would not sign any bill legalizing gay marriage.
"In our state, we’re going to continue to pursue civil unions,” the Republican told NBC’s “Meet the Press." "I am not a fan of same-sex marriage. It’s not something that I support. ... I believe marriage should be between one man and one woman."
The questions came in response to New York’s passage of a same-sex marriage bill Friday night.
Christie has rebuffed calls from Republicans to run for president in 2012. When asked if he would be interested in becoming vice president, he quipped, "The person who picks me as vice president would have to be sedated."
