Passenger on American Airlines flight approaching LaGuardia Airport reports drone sighting, FAA says

A passenger aboard an American Airlines flight spotted a drone as the plane approached LaGuardia Airport Tuesday afternoon, the Federal Aviation Administration said.

The FAA said American Airlines Flight 4125, an Embraer E145 aircraft, was approaching to land on Runway 22 at about 4:30 p.m. when the passenger spotted the unmanned aircraft.

The flight landed safely, the FAA said. The agency said it will investigate the sighting.
