Police hunt for a man who attacked a woman near City Hall

Cops are looking for a man who sexually assaulted a young woman early Sunday morning and fled when nearby construction workers, hearing the victim's screams for help, came to her aid.

The 28-year-old victim told police she was attacked before 5 a.m. while walking on Park Row and Beekman Street -- just steps from City Hall -- by a man who appeared to be in his 20s, wearing a red Adidas jacket. The victim, who had bruising on her neck, was taken to Beth Israel Hospital, where she was listed in stable condition, police said.
