N.J. Sen. Bob Menendez vehemently denied the prostitution allegations against him as "smears that right wing blogs have been pushing since the election," in an interview with CNN Monday.

"It's amazing to me that anonymous, nameless, faceless individuals on a web site can drive that type of story into the mainstream, but that's what they've done successfully," Menendez told the network's Dana Bash yesterday.

Meanwhile, one of the women implicated in the allegations that Menendez consorted with prostitutes while traveling to the Dominican Republic with a campaign contributor, denied ever having met the New Jersey senator.

Yaneisi Fernandez, 21, told Univision reporter Esperanza Ceballos that she had never even seen Menendez's face on television and that she is not a prostitute.
