The man suspected of killing an East Village man, a 2-year-old boy and wounding three others in Pennsylvania Saturday was shot and killed by police Monday after a six-hour standoff.

Mark Geisenheyner, 51, was shot in the basement of a home he was holed up in after killing New Yorker Joseph Shay, 43, and Gregory Erdmann, 2, and injuring Monica Shay, 58, her husband Paul Shay, 64, Joseph's girlfriend, Kathryn Erdmann, 37. He was surrounded by SWAT teams, which reportedly tried to negotiate with him.

"He executed his plan Saturday night," Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman reportedly said Monday, adding that he had been planning the attack for as long as 15 months.

Officials last night didn’t have a possible motive.

Geisenheyner reportedly had a police record in Massachusetts and New York. He and Joseph Shay reportedly knew each other, but it was unclear how.
