Disgraced WABC-TV weather anchor Heidi Jones is reportedly negotiating a plea deal on charges that she lied to cops about a stranger trying to rape her in Central Park, according to published reports.
"We're involved in active discussions about a possible resolution in the case," Paul Callan said in court Wednesday, according to the Daily News.
Jones, who has appeared on “Good Morning America,” allegedly told cops a Hispanic man attacked her as she jogged in the park in September and showed up outside her home and threatened her in separate incident.
She allegedly later recanted the claims, telling cops that she fabricated the story for attention and because she was stressed with work and her family, said reports that cited court records.
Jones, 37, has been suspended by the network and faces up to a year in prison and a $1,000 fine.
Callan did not return a call for comment.
