2012 was abuzz with entertainment news stories, and we expect 2013 to have its fair share of media mayhem, too. With a royal baby on the way, Lindsay Lohan not expected to calm down any time soon and Kim Kardashian's love life, could we expect anything less?

The royal baby becomes the biggest entertainment news story of the year.
When Prince William and Kate Middleton wed in 2011, the world was absolutely captivated - and has been ever since. Multiply that by 1,000 when the couple announced Middleton's pregnancy earlier this year. So, when she gives birth to the third heir to the throne (behind Prince Charles and papa Wills) in 2013, we can only imagine a worldwide media storm nothing short of royal mania.

Kim Kardashian finds a lasting relationship.
When Kim Kardashian's marriage to Kris Humphries went sour in 2011 after only 72 days, the general consensus was that the entire relationship was created for TV cameras, ratings and, of course, a load of cash. But the reality starlet's current relationship with rapper Kanye West actually seems genuine, and as the twosome approaches the one-year mark in early 2013, we think they'll continue their seemingly normal courtship. No gigantic engagement ring flashed before cameras, no cheesy proposal on TV and no mega wedding in front of all of America. Well, all that might happen at some point in the near future, but we think Kardashian and West will spend most of 2013 just dating - like a (somewhat) regular couple.

Lindsay Lohan continues drama roller coaster.
Hardly a week goes by when there isn't some bout of Lindsay Lohan-related drama: jewelry theft, tax problems, assault, car-related issues ... and the list goes on. Sadly, we can't imagine a 2013 in which Lohan stays out of trouble. What kind of trouble, exactly? That remains to be seen.

'Idol' judging revamp proves positive.
Three new judges are joining Randy Jackson on "American Idol" in 2013 - Nicki Minaj, Mariah Carey and Keith Urban - and drama has already shrouded the production. The alleged fighting that took place between Minaj and Carey during auditions (which filmed in 2012) has provided an anticipation beyond the singing that might give the Fox show a much-needed ratings boost.

Jessica Simpson has another baby and nabs another weight-loss deal.
Jessica Simpson dropped a whopping 50 pounds since giving birth to daughter Maxwell Drew this year - part of her $2 million deal with Weight Watchers. Now, Simpson and fiance Eric Johnson have confirmed that baby No. 2 is on the way. We expect Simpson to give birth and lose an even-more-astounding amount of weight, as part of a deal with Weight Watchers.
