Nikolas Bentel of Chaminade High School - December - 2011 Scholar Artist
According to his teacher, Chaminade High School’s Nikolas Bentel is “an exceptional young man and an extremely talented visual artist, musician and scholar. He fits the true definition of a Scholar-Artist.”
Nickolas has an earned GPA of over 90 and is a member of the school’s chapter of the National Honor Society. He is currently enrolled in the Collegiate program, for which he receives college credit and won “Best of Show” in the annual art contest. He earned a top score for AP Studio Art and has received four Gold Key Awards from the Alliance for Young Artists. In addition to his accomplishments in visual arts, he has the distinction of sitting as principal viola in the school’s orchestra. Nickolas also serves as editor and chief of the school’s literary magazine.
Outside of school, Nick travels to Italy each summer to participate in sculpture workshops, performs charitable work, had a composition performed by the Long Island Philharmonic, performed with the Long Island Symphony, and mentors students learning to ski.
