Overturned vehicle slows traffic on LIE

UPDATE: By 7 a.m. DOT traffic cameras showed that the accident had been cleared and all lanes are open.

A multi-vehicle accident has slowed traffic on the Long Island Expressway early Monday morning, according to the Department of Transportation.

The right lane on the westbound side of the LIE is closed due to an overturned vehicle between Exit 34 (New Hyde Park Road) and Exit 33 (Lakeville Road), according to the DOT's website. Previously, three lanes were blocked. The incident was reported at 5:29 a.m.
