Persad's no-hitter leads Central Islip
Senior Nick Persad threw a no-hitter, walked three and struck out six for Central Islip in a 5-0 win over Bay Shore Thursday in Suffolk League II baseball. Stephen Morales went 2-for-4 with a double and five RBIs for Central Islip.
Connetquot 15, Lindenhurst 10: Jim Guiliano hit a three-run triple to ignite a five-run top of the 10th inning for Connetquot in League II. The game was the completion of a contest suspended Monday when it was tied at 9 after nine innings. Lindenhurst's 21-game winning streak came to an end.
Brentwood 4, Floyd 1: Fabricio Zanabria hit a three-run homer in the top of the sixth inning to break a tie at 1 in League I.
Harborfields 8, Hauppauge 7: Travis George went 3-for-4 with three doubles and hit a two-run double in the top of the seventh to win it for Harborfields in League V. Dylan Piscitelli pitched 3 1/3 hitless innings in relief for the win.
Sayville 3, Miller Place 2: Bryan Rolon hit a walk-off, two-run single in the bottom of the seventh to lead Sayville in League VI.
Bayport-Blue Point 2, Mount Sinai 1: Erich Grosse hit a single in the bottom of the ninth to score Steve Longo for BBP in League VII.
South Side 7, New Hyde Park 6: Matt Sollin's seventh-inning single scored Eddie Tammaro with the winning run for South Side, which scored six runs in the inning in a Conference A-I/II crossover. Evan Singer scored on a throwing error to tie the score at 6.
Lynbrook 10, Valley Stream South 8: Brian Bilello's sacrifice fly scored Vin Sharkey in the top of the seventh to give Lynbrook, which trailed 8-6 going into the inning, a 9-8 lead in a Conference A-III/IV crossover. Sharkey's two-run triple tied the score at 8.
Garden City 17, Roslyn 6: Mike Borges, Nick Cento and Scott Conetta each hit two-run homers in a 10-run first inning for Garden City in Conference A-I. Borges and Cento each hit two homers.
Baldwin 9, Calhoun 8: Jake Cleva hit a solo home run in the top of the seventh to give Baldwin a 9-8 lead in non-conference. Tom Kelleher had a two-run single in the top of the sixth to tie the score at 8 for Baldwin.
Chaminade 3, Kellenberg 0: Eric Truss threw a one-hitter with seven strikeouts and two walks and Andrew Gallagher hit a two-out, two-run single in the top of the fifth inning for Chaminade in CHSAA.
