Property tax exemption workshop scheduled

A property tax exemption workshop will be held Friday from 1 to 3 p.m. at Massapequa Park Village Hall at 151 Front St.

The session is sponsored by state Sen. Charles Fuschillo Jr. (R-Merrick), Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano and Mayor James Altadonna.

Exemption specialists from the Nassau County Department of Assessment will be on hand with computers linked to the county’s database.

Property tax exemption applications for Basic STAR, Enhanced STAR, senior citizens, individuals with disabilities, veterans, volunteer firefighters and emergency medical technicians will be processed.

Homeowners who plan to file for an exemption should bring copies of documentation, including proof of age, proof of residency and proof of income.
