Quinn's goal wins it for Connetquot
Sophomore Jane Quinn's first varsity goal with 47 seconds left proved to be the game-winner in Connetquot's 14-13 win over visiting Sachem East in Division I girls lacrosse yesterday. Connetquot (6-4) trailed 11-5 at halftime. Amber Kupres scored a season-high five goals and Kassi Grant added three goals. Katie Trombetta and Jill Donodeo each scored four goals for Sachem East (6-4).
Floyd 12, West Babylon 11: Courtney Murphy scored the game-winner on an assist from Gabby Bradley with 3:38 left for Floyd (10-1). Murphy finished with four goals, while Bradley had a goal and four assists. Monique Walker scored three goals and Chelsea Sidaras made 10 saves. Christina Esposito led West Babylon (4-6) with four goals and one assist.
Bay Shore 12, Ward Melville 7: Senior Catherine Schmidt scored a career-high four goals with one assist for Bay Shore (8-2). Kyra Harney added three goals and Samantha Fagone made nine saves. Abby Beltrani and Deryn Blaney each scored two goals for Ward Melville (6-4).
North Babylon 18, Patchogue-Medford 14: Alyssa Ferro scored six goals with two assists for North Babylon (5-4) in Division I. Nicole Marzocca added five goals and four assists, and Ally Kennedy had three goals and one assist. Alyssa Handel led Patchogue-Medford (3-8) with six goals.
Whitman 13, Longwood 10: Nicole Kleet scored three goals with two assists for Whitman (5-7). Essence Casey, Melissa Morrissey and Taylor O'Toole each scored two goals. Lindsey Eggers led Longwood (1-9) with five goals.
Oceanside 7, Hicksville 6: Courtney Collins scored off a free position with 3:16 left to give Oceanside (2-3) a 7-5 lead in Conference A-I. Danielle Montano and Katherine Malavet each scored two goals and Victoria DeBlase had two assists. Jessica Maxwell made 14 saves, nine in the second half. Caitlin Wynne led Hicksville (0-5) with two goals.
Baldwin 11, Syosset 4: Allie Rodger scored four goals for Baldwin (3-3). Kelsey Cohen added three goals, Jessica Markowitz had two goals and Caroline Winters made 15 saves. Tori Harrison led Syosset (1-4) with two goals.
Great Neck South 15, Great Neck North 9: Senior Dana Levine tied a career high with eight goals for Great Neck South (3-4) in Conference B-III. Maxine Pearlman added two goals and two assists, and freshman Isabella Berlinsky made eight saves for her first varsity win. Rae Berger led Great Neck North (2-5) with five goals.
Floral Park 19, Carle Place 12: Julia Schmidt scored eight goals with one assist for Floral Park (4-3) in Conference C. Casey Naab added three goals and three assists, and Molly Brennan scored three goals. Kayla Vargas made 15 saves. Taylor Martello led Carle Place (2-6) with five goals.
