Police in northern New Jersey are investigating the killing of an 88-year-old.

Casetta Blunt was discovered in her Campfield Street home around midnight Thursday.

Prosecutors are not saying how she was killed.

Irvington Police Director Joseph Santiago says there are no suspects. Santiago says the crime does not appear to be related to any ongoing issue.

Police are asking the public to call the Essex County prosecutor with tips.

The victim has been identified as Casetta Blunt, 88, of Campfield Street. She was discovered in her home shortly after midnight and pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of death is pending autopsy.
