While most Americans hit the polls Tuesday on Election Day to cast their ballots for the future of this nation, some also took the time to pay respect to the past.

After exercising their right to vote, voters in upstate Rochester visited Susan B. Anthony's grave at Mount Hope Cemetery where they covered her tombstone in "I Voted" stickers.

Anthony was a pioneer in the women’s suffrage movement.

Her grave will remain open until 9 p.m., according to the Associated Press.

CBS affiliate WROC was broadcasting the event live via Facebook Tuesday morning.
