Snowstorm forcing postponement of high school sports events
The winter storm that is expected to drop between 5 and 9 inches of snow is causing high school sports events to be postponed.
The storm warning is in effect for all of Nassau County and about half of Suffolk until 1 p.m. Saturday. Administrators from both counties said they are leaving it up to the schools to make the decision to postpone.
What local police departments do to combat the problem Suffolk created a street takeover task force in 2024 that has broken up more than 100 incidents in the county.
