Hunter Burrell, Matt Zampariello, Seitu Solomon and Brandon Camanzuli ran the 4 x 800 in a third-place time of 7:55.00 for St. John the Baptist boys track at The New Balance Collegiate Invitational at The Armory. The Cougars' time was a school record and the third fastest in the country this season.

BOYS SWIMMING

Mo leads Rebels. Great Neck South took the Division A championship with a total of 688 points, led by Samuel Mo, who won the 200-yard freestyle in 1:44.24 (almost four seconds less than the state qualifying time) and took first in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:00.06. Garden City came in second with 510 points. Freshman Joseph Lozano won the 500-yard freestyle in 5:00.53.

The South 200-yard medley relay team, made up of Mo, Daniel Mo, Ben Ching and Patrick Yang, also took first with a state-meet-qualifying time of 1:40.40.

In Division B, Jericho took first place with 731 points, followed by Plainview JFK with 581. Jericho's Joseph Na won the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 50.66. Bellmore-Merrick won Division C with 627 points. Long Beach took second with 592. Bellmore's Austin Kowalsky won the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 49.36 and the 100-yard backstroke in 57.51.

GIRLS GYMNASTICS

Oceanside 161.45, Sewanhaka 152.7: Casey Block won the all-around with a score of 34.4 and Cheyenne Blumberg took second with a 34.3 to lead Oceanside (7-3) in Nassau Conference I. Jenna Blackman won the balance beam with an 8.5.

GIRLS FENCING

Whitman 15, Centereach 12:Casey File and Kelcey Wolff each went 3-0 in sabre for Whitman (4-6) in Suffolk.

BOYS FENCING

Centereach 18, Whitman 9: Andrew Holmes and Robert Ruenes both went 3-0 in foil and Robert Butera went 3-0 in epee to lead Centereach (9-4 League I).
