Christopher Tierney, who fell 30 feet doing a stunt for "Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark," is going to have a special part in the much-delayed show when it finally opens March 15. "He is going to do something on stage on opening night," promised director Julie Taymor in an interview Thursday with NY1.

Tierney is recovering from multiple injuries and spine surgery after he fell during the Dec. 20 preview, prompting new rules from state and federal safety agencies. "There was a mistake and hopefully it could never happen again," said Taymor.

Asked about the show's five delays and historic number of work-in-progress previews, she responded, "How do we know how long it will take? Our ambition and our bar are high. The pressure is for us to do something really unique that suits the material."
