Tuscano wins it for Kings Park in OT
Luke Tuscano scored off a feed from Sean Brady with 3:20 left in overtime to lift Kings Park to a 7-6 win over East Hampton / Bridgehampton Wednesday in Suffolk Division II boys lacrosse.
Dominic Montemurro won all 18 of his faceoff attempts, including one in overtime that set up the winning goal for Kings Park (3-1). Joe O'Conner added two goals, including one with 6:20 left in the fourth to tie it at 6. Brian Headrick and Andrew Gannon each had a goal and an assist in the win.
Ward Melville 10, Smithtown West 9: Sean Cleary scored his fourth goal of the game 31 seconds into overtime after Jack Bruckner won a faceoff for WM (4-0) in a Division I game continued from Tuesday. Connor Ryan had seven saves, allowing just two second-half goals. Smithtown West's Matt Schultz scored to tie it with 1:45 remaining in regulation.
Glenn 11, Rocky Point 10: Mike Tufano took a ground ball and scored with two seconds left in regulation and set up Kevin Massa, who had two goals and four assists, for the winner with 1:10 left in the third overtime for Glenn in Division II. Tufano finished with two goals and one assist and Thomas Forsberg added four goals for Glenn (3-1).
Wheatley 6, Great Neck North 5: Dylan Sherman scored with 8:30 left in the fourth to give Wheatley (1-1) a 6-4 lead with 8:30 in Nassau Conference B-II. James Delay had 13 saves for Wheatley.
GIRLS LACROSSE
Mepham 20, Great Neck North 10: Senior Cristina Olson had a career-high 12 points with six goals and six assists, Nicole Stackpole added six goals and two assists and senior Alex Giorgos recorded her first career hat trick to lead Mepham (6-1) in non-league. Joann DeLauter had 13 saves in the win.
Islip 13, Center Moriches 6: Page Constantino had three of her five goals during a 6-2 first half for Islip (2-3) in Division II. Taryn Ohlmiller had four goals and Cristina Rizzo added a goal and an assist in the win.
Mount Sinai 11, Bayport-Blue Point 10: Kasey Mitchell scored six goals, including the go-ahead score with 4:41 remaining to lead Mt. Sinai (4-1) in Division II.
Kellenberg 13, St. John the Baptist 12: Paige Savia scored off an assist from Michelle Goss with 1:15 left in the second to lead Kellenberg (3-2) in CHSAA. Kaitlin McLaughlin had four goals and an assist and Sarah Croutier added three goals in the win.
