Two fatal crashes at same spot almost a year apart

The photo above is from a year ago, when a teen died in a crash in Brentwood and a roadside memorial was set up at the crash site.
Below, is Newsday's video from Tuesday, which tells the story of a crash that killed 21-year-old Jose Funes at the very same location.
Now, officials are taking steps to make sure it doesn't happen again.
