Uniondale pedestrian still critical after being hit by car

A pedestrian was in critical condition and transported to Nassau University Medical Center after having been struck by a car in Uniondale early Saturday morning, Nassau County police said. A pedestrian struck by a car early Saturday remains in critical condition with severe head trauma, police said.
Police said a 22-year-old man driving 2010 Nissan west on Front Street in Uniondale hit a 26-year-old man who was crossing in front of the vehicle at 2:22 a.m.
The pedestrian was taken by Nassau County police ambulance to a hospital, where he was listed in critical condition with serious head trauma. Neither the driver nor the pedestrian were identified.
Police said they do not suspect any criminality. Police said the vehicle passed a safety inspection at the scene.
