'Urban/Suburban' show at Islip Art Museum
WHAT It's been centuries since most Americans, let alone most Long Islanders, were classified as agrarian. We don't need a census to tell us that most of us live in either a city or a suburb. That's the demographic of artists whose interpretation of "Urban/Suburban" comprises the Islip Art Museum's latest exhibit. The show, curated by Karen Shaw, features work in a variety of media by New York area artists, including two from the Hamptons -- Darlene Charneco and Grant Hafner -- plus Kim Beck, William Carroll, Corydon Cowensage, Noah Klersfeld, Steven Millar, Cheryl Molnar, Antonio Petracca, Travis Shaffer, E.E. Smith and Susan Wides. There's an artists' reception Sunday-- Earth Day.
WHEN | WHERE Reception 1-4 p.m. Sunday. Gallery hours: 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Wednesdays-Saturdays, noon-4 p.m. Sundays, through May 27, Islip Art Museum, 50 Irish Lane, East Islip
ADMISSION $3 suggested donation
