Warner Bros.: We're not talking with Sheen

If there was any lingering question about the possibility of Charlie Sheen's return to "Two and Half Men," it would appear to linger no longer. Warner Brothers TV Thursday insisted that Sheen had not been in discussions with the show's producer about a return, nor would there be discussions.
In a short, sharp letter that was first reported and displayed on TMZ.com -- later confirmed by WB as authentic -- an outside counsel for the company, Munger Tolles & Olson, wrote to Sheen attorney Martin Singer, "there have been no discussions, there are no discussions and there will be no discussions, regarding his returning to or having any involvement with the series."
But Singer later told the website, "There have been discussions as late as Tuesday, and all parties have been involved -- Warner Bros., CBS, Chuck Lorre and Charlie Sheen."
Sheen filed a $100-million breach-of-contract suit against Warner Bros., but during some recent stage shows he has apologized for some comments he made and said he wanted his job back. Asked during an interview with a Boston radio station Tuesday about his chances of returning, Sheen responded: "An 85 percent chance. . . . There have been discussions."

Meanwhile, Canadian health officials warned Sheen not to smoke while on stage Thursday night during the Toronto stop of his "My Violent Torpedo of Truth" tour, The Associated Press reports. Sheen, who frequently has puffed on a cigarette onstage during earlier tour stops, was scheduled to perform his one-man show at Massey Hall for two nights.
Ontario Health Promotion Minister Margarett Best said health inspectors would be watching to ensure Sheen didn't light up.
