Tuesday's weather: High temps hit 60s for third straight day on Long Island
The morning's scattered showers, dropping less than a tenth of an inch of rain, cleared the area by early afternoon, leaving skies featuring "more clouds than sun," said Joe Pollina, National Weather Service meteorologist based in Upton.
Highs in the low 60s were expected, but the mercury headed up to 65 as of just before 4 p.m. at Long Island MacArthur Airport, meaning it's the third day in a row for 60-degree temperatures.
Wednesday's highs are expected in the mid 60s.
Look for mostly sunny and breezy conditions Wednesday, with a normal high of 58, said Rich Hoffman, News 12 Long Island meteorologist.
Indeed, he said, "temperatures will be at or slightly above normal through the weekend."
