The rainy weather sticks around for one more day on Long Island before mild, mostly dry weather takes over for the rest of the week.

Monday will feature on and off rain with temperatures starting out in the 50s and then heading into the 60s, according to the National Weather Service.

“It's a cloudy, unsettled start of the week until it dries out and is on the mild side for the first few days,” said David Stark, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Upton.

There may be a shower Tuesday morning before it dries out and temperatures climb to around 70 degrees.

“Kind of the same story right through Thursday,” Stark said. “Maybe by Friday we see a little bit of a cool down, back to the lower 60s.”

There is a 40% chance of showers on Wednesday when it will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 68 degrees.

The sun returns on Thursday with a high, once again, near 68 degrees.

Friday will be mostly sunny with a high near 63 and an evening low of about 49 degrees. A 30% chance of showers returns Saturday when the high should top out at around 61 degrees, the weather service said.
