Uncertainty surrounds potential snowstorm early next week
Long Island could get some early spring snow Monday, but the forecast remains uncertain.
A low-pressure system expected to form Monday morning off the mid-Atlantic coast could result in anything from a light dusting to "significant snowfall," according to conflicting National Weather Service models.
The region will likely see some snowfall, but the timing and amounts are uncertain, said Lauren Nash, a weather service meteorologist based in Upton.
The low-pressure front is expected to form off the coast of the Carolinas and track northeast, with precipitation hitting Long Island sometime between Monday and Tuesday morning, she said.
