Winery installs wind turbine
A new wind turbine was officially commissioned yesterday at McCall Wines in Cutchogue by the Long Island Power Authority and local officials.
The 10-kilowatt wind turbine is the first one to be installed at a Long Island vineyard and is the sixth turbine installed this year under LIPA’s “Backyard Wind” program.
McCall Wines, a 50-acre farm owned by Russell McCall, will receive a $44,000 rebate from LIPA as part of the program.
