Rachel Wisniewski's walk-off single scored Gina Cangelosi in the eighth inning to lift No. 7 Sewanhaka over Wantagh, 2-1, in the first round of the Nassau Class A softball playoffs on Friday.

Monique Roberge allowed four hits and struck out 13, and Michelle Mongiello went 2-for-3 with an RBI to lead No. 7 Sewanhaka (4-12). Wantagh, the 10th seed, tied it at 1 with a squeeze play in the seventh. Sewanhaka will face No. 2 Island Trees in a quarterfinal at 4:30 p.m. Monday.

Clarke 6, Valley Stream South 0: Seventh-grader Sarah Cornell pitched a three-hitter with 14 strikeouts to lead No. 6 Clarke (4-9) over No. 11 Valley Stream South in the first round of the Nassau Class A playoffs. Nicole Randazzo was 2-for-3 with an RBI and Alyssa Colletti and Aly Smith each went 2-for-3 with a run for Clarke. The Rams will face No. 3 Seaford at 4:30 p.m. Monday.

Seaford 6, Valley Stream North 1: Lindsay Montemarano allowed four hits, no earned runs with five strikouts for the win, and she hit a solo homer to lead Seaford (10-5) over No. 14 Valley Stream North. Victoria Wink was 4-for-4 with four RBIs and Nicole Nulty went 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Floral Park 6, Glen Cove 0: Samantha Giovanniello threw a two-hitter with 18 strikeouts to lead No. 5 Floral Park (8-8) over No. 12 Glen Cove in the first round of the Nassau Class A playoffs. Angelica Titor and Allison Bostrom each went 2-for-4 with an RBI. The Knights will visit No. 4 New Hyde Park in a quarterfinal at 4:30 p.m. Monday.

New Hyde Park 10, Jericho 4: Lisa O'Callaghan struck out nine in a complete-game win and went 3-for-4 with a three-run homer to lead New Hyde Park (10-7) over No. 13 Jericho. Briana Kresback was 3-for-4 with three RBIs and Christina Burkey had two RBIs.

Plainedge 13, Garden City 1: Michele Daubman gave up four hits and struck out seven to lead No. 1 Plainedge (16-1) over No. 16 Garden City in the first round of the Nassau Class A playoffs. Daubman also went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs. Jackie Oleksak was 2-for-3 with two runs and Kate Finnen went 2-for-4 with three runs and an RBI. Plainedge hosts No. 8 Bethpage at 4:30 p.m. Monday.

Bethpage 3, North Shore 2: Julianne Tierney scored the go-ahead run on an error in the sixth as Bethpage defeated No. 9 North Shore.

Mepham 4, Baldwin 2: Toni Marie Valeriano (2-for-2) entered in relief and escaped a bases-loaded, no-out jam in the fifth for No. 5 Mepham (12-6), which defeated No. 12 Baldwin in the first round of the Nassau Class AA playoffs. Nicole Pazienza was 2-for-3 with an RBI, and Claudia Law and Casey Thomas each had an RBI. Mepham faces No. 4 East Meadow in a quarterfinal Monday.

Oceanside 5, Syosset 2: Jessica Panzarino's two-run single gave No. 9 Oceanside a 3-2 lead over No. 8 Syosset in the first round of the Nassau Class AA playoffs. Oceanside will face top-seeded MacArthur at 4:30 p.m. Monday.

Long Beach 4, Bellmore JFK 3: Annie Winerip scored the go-ahead run on Krystal Carrasquillo's double in the fifth as No. 6 Long Beach (10-10) topped No. 11 Bellmore JFK in the first round of the Nassau Class AA palyoffs. Winerip also had a two-run single in the first. Long Beach will play No. 3 Massapequa on Monday.

Carey 10, Hicksville 1: Marcella Castellano went 2-for-4 with four RBIs to lead No. 7 Carey (3-12) over No. 10 Hicksville in the first round of the Nassau Class AA playoffs. Jessia Doria and Erin Gilroy each had two RBIs and a run. Carey will face No. 2 Farmingdale at 4:45 p.m. Monday.

East Islip 3, Smithtown West 0: Courtney Blake allowed five hits and struck out five to lead East Islip (16-2), which clinched the Suffolk League III title. Faith Padro was 3-for-3 with two RBIs.

Half Hollow Hills West 5, North Babylon 0: Alyssa Bitsimis threw a two-hitter with no walks and six strikeouts for Hills West (15-1) in League VI. She was also 3-for-4 with two RBIs.Melissa Kelly was 3-for-4 with two RBIs.

Kellenberg 2, St. John the Baptist 1: Stephanie Staiano's single scored Susan Pardo, who had doubled, in the bottom of the fourth to give Kellenberg (16-0) a 2-1 lead in CHSAA action. Pardo (2-for-3) had tied it at 1 with an RBI single in the first. Deena Farrell allowed four hits and no earned runs with six strikeouts in six innings for the win.
