Baseball's magic numbers this week

1,100: Receiving yards in senior season for B.J. Boyd, a two-sport Bay Area high school star drafted by the A's at No. 139 overall. B.J. knows Moneyball doesn't have the same sizzle as those Bo Jackson Nike ads, but it could work.
101: Speed, in miles per hour, of final fastball thrown by Aroldis Chapman in Wednesday's win. Of nine pitches, four were 100 mph. Chapman was arrested earlier this season for driving 93 -- not sure if he used the "fast gun" defense.
39: Round in which Cubs drafted Rustin Sveum, a high school infielder and son of the team's manager, Dale Sveum. Dad said Rustin is going to college, but can "always say he got drafted by the Cubs." Hmm. Might want to keep that quiet.
15: Victories without a loss at Miller Park for Zack Greinke, only the fourth pitcher since 1900 to win at least his first 15 home decisions. The reason? Better coffee in Milwaukee than on the road. Coffee? Has he tried the Brats?
13: Years MLB had employed arbitrator Shyam Das, who was fired three months after overturning Ryan Braun's suspension for PEDs. Also, Braun's FedEx loophole now has been closed. No word on who gets in trouble if seat is left up.
2: Players put on the paternity list this week, the Diamondbacks' Lyle Overbay and the Mets' Chris Young. Under MLB rules, they must miss at least one day and a max of three. Good thing the Jets' Antonio Cromartie doesn't play baseball.
