The Mets are assured of winning at least one battle with the Yankees this year.

MLB.com released their list of the top 100 prospects in the majors Tuesday night and, though the Mets and Yankees both have three minor leaguers among the crowd, the Mets are the lone team in baseball with two prospects in the Top 10 and one of just two organizations to have three prospects in the Top 30 (Seattle is the other).

Travis d'Arnaud, a catcher the Mets acquired from Toronto in the R.A. Dickey deal, is ranked sixth overall, while pitcher Zack Wheeler, the return for sending Carlos Beltran to the Giants in 2011, is eighth. Noah Syndergaard, a right-handed pitcher who was also part of the Dickey trade, is 29th.

All three Mets prospects are ranked before a Yankee makes his first appearance. Power-hitting catcher Gary Sanchez checks in at No. 36 while outfielders Mason Williams (41) and Tyler Austin (75) round out the Bombers' selections.

Meanwhile, the baseball community at large will be watching Rangers shortstop Jurickson Profar, Orioles pitcher Dylan Bundy and Cardinals outfielder Oscar Taveras, who were the top three ranked players, respectively.

The top three players last year, Angels outfielder Mike Trout, Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper and Rays pitcher Matt Moore all went on to have success – if not become stars – at the major league level in 2012. Trout won the American League Rookie of the Year award, while Harper took home the honors in the National League.
