Jacoby Ellsbury, subbing for Hicks, steals home in fifth inning

Jacoby Ellsbury stole home in the bottom of the fifth inning of Friday night’s Yankee game against the Rays, tying the score at 3.
Ellsbury, who replaced Aaron Hicks in center in the top of the inning, started the Yankees’ rally against Tampa starter Matt Moore with a two-out single.
Didi Gregorius followed with a single and both runners, with Brett Gardner at the plate, advanced when Moore balked.
With the count full on Gardner, Moore went into a full windup and Ellsbury took off for the plate, sliding in just ahead of Curt Casali’s tag.
Hicks apparently hurt himself in the top of the fourth inning diving for Brandon Guyer’s looping RBI single to left-center. The Yankees announced that Hicks had a “sore left shoulder.” No further tests were scheduled and he’s listed as day to day.
