Goodbye California, hello Texas!

Former welterweight champion Antonio Margarito was granted a boxing license by the Texas Department of License and regulation Thursday, just eight days after being denied a license in California.

Getting his license opens the door for his proposed November 13 fight against Manny Pacquiao for a junior middleweight title in Cowboys Stadium.

Margarito, who had his license revoked by the California State Atheltic Commission a week after a knockout loss to Shane Mosley for attempting to use illegal hand wraps in January 2009, attempted to re-apply last Wednesday but was denied in a 5-1 vote.

Margarito attempted to get a license in Nevada earlier this month, but that state commission tabled his request and told him to go back to California and re-apply first.
