The Associated Press released its preseason top-25 poll. And to no one's surprise, Connecticut was No.1. But it wasn't unanimous. Baylor, led by 6-8 sophomore sensation Brittney Griner, was picked second and actually got one first-place vote.

Locally, St. John's was ranked 14th. It's the first time in program history the Red Storm women received a preseason spot in the AP poll. The Red Storm was 15th in last season's final AP poll.
