DURHAM, N.C. — Duke guard Grayson Allen returning to school for his junior season.

Coach Mike Krzyzewski announced Allen’s decision Wednesday.

Allen said in a statement he discussed the decision with his parents, “I had the feeling that it was right.” He says he built relationships with his teammates and “coming back next season to play with them is important to me.”

Allen has averaged 13.1 points and made 40 percent of his 3-pointers in two seasons, and was a third-team AP All-America selection as a sophomore while finishing the season with 25 straight double-figure scoring performances.

His return strengthens a lineup that will include another handful of high school stars, including forwards Harry Giles and Jayson Tatum. Duke also is seeking a medical hardship waiver for forward Amile Jefferson.
