Late Indiana surge tops No. 2 Ohio State
Victor Oladipo scored the go-ahead basket with 36 seconds left last night, and Jordan Hulls scored 17 points to lead No. 13 Indiana past second-ranked Ohio State, 74-70, in Bloomington, Ind.
Indiana (13-1, 1-1 Big Ten) has defeated both a No. 1 and No. 2 team in the past month.
Ohio State (13-2, 1-1) had a five-game winning streak snapped. Aaron Craft led the Buckeyes with 16 points and Jared Sullinger 15.
The teams traded leads throughout the final eight minutes, but Oladipo's layup gave Indiana a 71-70 lead. Hulls then hit 1 of 2 free throws, making it 72-70 and after William Buford missed a go-ahead three-pointer with 4.5 seconds to go, Christian Watford hit two free throws.
Kentucky 69, Louisville 62: Freshman forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist had season highs with 24 points and 19 rebounds as No. 3 Kentucky (13-1) extended the nation's longest home winning streak to 44. Fellow freshman Anthony Davis scored 18 points, all in the second half, and also had 10 rebounds and six blocks. Russ Smith had a career-high 30 points for the Cardinals (12-2) who rallied from an early 15-point deficit before tying it in the second half.
Georgetown 49, Providence 40: Henry Sims scored five of his 11 points in the final 7 minutes, and No. 12 Georgetown (12-1, 2-0 Big East) blew a 14-point lead and shot a season-low 30 percent in Washington. The score was tied at 35 with 8 minutes to play before Georgetown closed with a 14-5 run. Providence (11-4, 0-2) shot only 26 percent.
Iowa 72, Wisconsin 65: Freshman Aaron White scored 16 of his 18 points in the second half and fellow reserve Bryce Cartwright added 17 for Iowa (9-6, 1-1 Big Ten) in Madison, Wis. The No. 11 Badgers are 12-3, 1-1.
Harvard 74, Saint Joseph's 69: Kyle Casey scored seven of his 26 points in the closing 4:25 as No. 24 Harvard (12-1) completed a comeback from a late 11-point deficit in Cambridge, Mass.-- AP
