Latest AP polls week of 1/25; Kentucky unanimous No.1, UConn women top team for 36th straight week

Welcome to the top spot Kentucky. John Calipari's crew took over the top spot after Texas dropped two in a row last week. Kansas moved up to No.2, followed by Villanova, Syracuse and Michigan State, who all took advantage of Texas' tumble.
North Carolina dropped out of the poll after a terrible week, including a home loss to Georgia Tech. UAB made its first appearance, while New Mexico also made a return after being left out for several weeks. UConn is back in the poll after spending a week outside, while Clemson, Northern Iowa and Mississippi State all out of the rankings.

WOMEN'S POLL
Connecticut is No.1 for the 36th straight week, matching a record set by Louisiana Tech (1980-1982). There were some changes in the top 5. Notre Dame moved up one spot to No.3, while Tennesee fell to fifth. Ohio State cracked the top 5 for the first time this season and came in at No.4. The nation's only other undefeated Division I team, Nebraska, moved up to sixth, while Duke moved down a spot to No.7.
Xavier moved up one place to No.10, while Georgia dropped one spot to eighth. Wisconsin-Green Bay took the biggest drop from 17th to 24th, while Vanderbilt and Vermont dropped out.
Locally, St. John's received 13 votes.
