Region 15 women's hoops preview

Suffolk CC

Suffolk CC went 20-4 and won the regional title last season for Kevin Foley, who is 375-105 in 17 years as head coach. The key players to watch are F Kara Nenos (12.0 7.6), and G Hope Heiselman (6.5, 4.0). C Marlaina Sherman of Miller Place and G Colleen Walker of Commack are talented newcomers. Suffolk expects to be in the mix for another regional crown and spot in the NJCAA Tournament.

Nassau CC

Coach Kristine Abrams had an outstanding season as the Lions finished 14-5. Two starters return with PG Stephanie Brock (8.8, 5.7 assists) and rebounding forward Hannalee Fordyce (5.7, 13.3). PG Nicole Brown and G Cynthia Montano will play big roles.
