The Huskies are beginning to pick up some steam.

Sure, Georgetown has fallen into a min-slump, but Connecticut had no problems in its 79-62 second-round win over the Hoyas at the Garden on Wednesday.

Kemba Walker was at his best with 28 points on10-for-18 shooting.

A more important development, however, was Conecticut getting another great game out of freshman guard Jeremy Lamb.

Lamb had 11 points on 4-for-8 shooting, including two three-pointers. He also had four rebounds. Lamb was the star of UConn's 97-71 first-round win over DePaul on Tuesday as he scored 19 points.

Coming into the season, Huskies coach Jim Calhoun was concerned about the youth on his roster. Connecticut (23-9) have seven freshmen and just three seniors on its roster.

Calhoun's team is also loaded with sophomores, including Alex Oriakhi (5 points, 5 rebounds) and Jamal Coombs-Daniel (12 points).

What's more is that Walker is only a junior. Speculation is that he'll turn pro, but just imagine if he has a change of heart. The only seniors on the team are seldom-used Donnell Beverly and Kyle Bailey and 7-foot Charles Okwandu.
